Chinese New Year Celebrations

Chinese New Year Celebrations – Curious about Chinese New Year and its worldwide celebrations? I was for a long time as well, until I was lucky enough to start teaching Chinese students in America.

Whenever I ask my students what their favorite holiday is, they always say without a moment’s hesitation: Chinese New Year.

Chinese New Year is celebrated on the first day of the first month in the Chinese calendar. It ends on the 15th day during the lantern festival. Typically Chinese New Year celebrations  include lion dances, fireworks, family gathering, family meals, giving red envelopes of money and more!
